A CCC is a document issued by your local regional authority (council); which stands for a Council Certificate of Compliance.
This is a formal statement confirming that the applicable council are satisfied with all building work/s which have been undertaken and that this has been completed satisfactorily in accordance with the building consent which was issued. Your lawyer and/or bank will typically require this document and an agent or real estate professional should inform you if a property doesn’t have a CCC.
In some cases properties may not have a CCC which may make a property hard to lend to and in some cases can get a CCC however additional works may be required and the local regional authority (council) will need to sign off on this.
